Deska je nepoužitá, obal bez opotřebení. NEAR MINT (NM nebo EX nebo VG++) Téměř dokonalá deska. Tyto vinyly si uchovaly lesk, mohou na nich být pouze optické šmouhy vytvořené např. třením desky o obal. Na etiketě ani na obalu nejsou popisky či cenovky apod. Týká se to rovněž vad z výroby. Vinyl mohl být hraný, avšak bez zanechání stop na kvalitě zvuku. VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) Varianta přijatelná pro většinu sběratelů. Desky mohou vykazovat určité známky opotřebení, včetně lehkých oděrek nebo velmi lehké škrábance, které však zásadně neovlivňují poslech. Drobné známky manipulace jsou v pořádku. Pokud je deska očividně zachovaná, má však optické stopy. Obaly by měly mít pouze menší opotřebení. Obal může mít lehce odřený hřbet, lehký ringwear, nalepenou či drobně strženou cenovku apod. Obal může být rovněž opatřen výřezem tzv. cut-out, pokud je decentní. VERY GOOD (VG) Dobrá volba do doby než narazíte na lepší kopii. VG záznamy mají zjevnější chyby než jejich plusové protějšky. Chybí jim většina původního lesku, opotřebení drážek je zřejmé na první pohled. Mohou zde být lehké škrábance, které může jít cítit při přejetí nehtem. Záznam může šumět a občas lupnout, zejména v tichých pasážích a během intra. Šum však nepřehlušuje záznam. VG obaly smí mít známky používání, ale ty jsou stále snesitelné. Patří sem například zohnutí, výraznější ošoupání, lehce prodřený hřbet, drobná natržení atp.. GOOD (G) nebo GOOD PLUS (G+) Záznam stále hraje bez přeskakování a může dobře posloužit, pokud se třeba jedná o raritní vydání. Povrchový hluk je však výrazný a může přehlušovat záznam. Deska už na pohled vypadá velmi "jetě". Etiketa může být natrhlá nebo výrazně počmáraná. Škrábance jsou viditelné. Obal může být roztržený, hodně pomačkaný a celkově v dost "použitém" stavu. POOR (P) a FAIR (F) Takové desky mohou být popraskané, pokřivené, mohou přeskakovat, slouží spíše jako dekorace.
